What type wine to serve for Thanksgiving?

This will be a traditional Thanksgiving meal - turkey, dressing, etc. Red, white, blush? A couple of each to please everyone? We really aren’t planning for guests but people tend to drift in. I’m no wine connoisseur by any means but I don’t want to serve something that clashes with the food.

My girlfriends and I are going to have a girls night in and probably watch movies, and I want to buy some wine to bring over. One of my favorite wines in Lambrossco..I dont like the really acidty taste one. Is there a really good wine that wont cost an arm and a leg when eating like snack food?

How long should I wait to test my wine after putting in campden tablets to stop yeast growth?

I mixed in some crushed tablets to stop growth in my wine. How long do I need to wait to test it? Is the campden going to hurt me if I don’t wait 24 hours for it to deactivate?
Yes, I tested specific gravity. Its done, so I added the campden to stop growth. Its been 24 hours.. so Im not worried anymore, but yes I meant how long to wait after adding campden to taste it? Is it toxic to drink before the 24 hours are up?

How many cases of wine should I buy for a conference wine reception for approx. 30 people?

If a case of wine contains 12 bottles then by my guessing, two cases would be sufficient to provide each person with roughly four glasses each with some to spare. I’m keen to do this as cheaply as possible due to budget constrictions but also, don’t want to run out of wine! Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Is red wine supposed to be served chilled or room temperature?

I don’t even really get into red wine, but we got a free bottle of some french crap from the neighbor welcoming us here. So do I chill it or just pop the bottle and start chugging?
Well I tried it room temperature with dinner just now and it tasted like crap. That’s way too bitter for me.

I’ve been invited to a friend’s house for dinner this weekend, and she is making homemade pasta and homemade meatballs. Normally, I’d think this would be a white wine dish, but the meat is what’s throwing me here.

I’ve just been watching a cooking show and he said something about adding Chinese wine. What’s the difference between Chinese wines and other wines? Is it just that its from China and the others’ aren’t or are there some more differences?

It always used to be that wine was made with fermented grapes and cider with fermented apples, but now you can get all sorts of fruit cider and wine can be made with almost any fruit….so whats the difference between them?
