How does an alcoholic or drug addict get clean, with such bad cravings? Find the self control. Distract yourself. Concentrate on other food. If you can make it through the first month it gets so much easier. I think it’s easier, also, not to think of ‘giving up meat’ but rather of ‘eating in a new way.’
Mopar mike - why do people insist on perpetuating such a myth? Hitler was not a vegetarian. His favorite meals were squab and ham. He sometimes at vegetarian at a doctor’s recommendation for his stomach, not ethics, but he never stuck to the diet for long
meat is always 100 times tasty and quick energy giver compare with vegetables.there is no connection between animal love and meat because we dont eat our loved one. but if you try to do it you will certainly become new wolfman.
i had the same thing when i started
you can become semi-vegetarian and eat meat on occassion like i did, or you can go out and buy veggie meat like morning star farms brand[[sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good!]] and whenever you crave meat eat that instead you can barely even tell the difference!
i started out as a semi-vegetarian but as soon as i knew it i just didnt want to eat meat anymore
The same way that people go on diets when they have REALLY bad cravings for deep fried ice cream, chocolate, donuts, pizza, burgers, and poutine. You acknowledge that you have a craving and then say "I can overcome this" and you do. *shrug*
Realize that meat is probably a taste preference. Try, sometime, eating plain baked or poached anything. Don’t put anything on it. No salt, no pepper, nothing. It won’t taste quite as great. Put the salt, seasonings, sauces, and everything else you usually put on meat on something that isn’t meat. See if that helps.
True cravings come from your body telling you that you are missing a key nutrient in your diet. If you continue to have these cravings then maybe you need to look over your diet plan and see what is missing.
Learn to prepare vegetarian or vegan mock meats. My favorite is seitan - a mock meat which is made from wheat gluten, herbs and spices that really feels like meat in the mouth, chewy and fibrous. It can be prepared to resemble all sorts of meat - even bacon (which fries and tastes as satisfying as the real thing without anything having to die for it).
Well you dont ahve to give up meat you could give up baby animals instead like lamb etc so then you are doing your thing towards them. You could try think of all the positives of why you doing this and how much money you will save rather than buying meat all time which quite franlkly is very exspensive in the time of the credit crunch. You could try to eat foods that mount up to the same as meat instead of making chicken soup make a thick vegetable soup!
Foods that i believe are recommened to eat are lentils and beans they are supose to be a cover up of meat to keep your energy u!p
have fun becoming a vegertarian and think of it this way your saving at least one animal a day have fun and good luck!
I used to crave meat when I first became a veggie, but now I don’t (well I do, but hardly ever!). It’s a natural reaction when giving up stuff. If you stopped eating chocolate or cheese, then you would suddenly want to eat them.
I would go with being a veggie, make sure you have lots of nice food in the fridge/cupboard and see how it goes. You won’t know if you can break the craving until you try!
If you’re determined to give up meat, I’d suggest you do it slowly. Since you’re having cravings, you must miss meat when you stop eating it. So reduce your meat intake slowly. Eat it one or two fewer times per week until you’re okay with the new level, then reduce it again. Or eliminate one kind of meat at a time, skip pork for a week or two, then chicken, etc.
Also, reevaluate why you want to be a vegetarian. Make sure it’s what you really want to do. If you really do, then you should reaffirm your reasons. At the same time, if you really don’t want to be a vegetarian, you should decide that before you stress yourself too much.
In the end your diet is your choice, and only you can decide what you really want.

Read Mein Kamph.
Hitler was a vegetarian.
Sadly, even today the Vegan/PETA movement carries on his tradition of hating the United States of America.
God Bless

Control your cravings.

Every time you want meat enjoy the wholesome goodness of some carrots. Carrots are nutritionally complete and are known for reducing meat cravings.
